What is RPR?
RPR (Roadworthy Photo Register) is a tool developed to assist in the taking and storage of photos required for a Roadworthy Check.

This tool has been developed for Victorian Licensed Vehicle Testers (LVTs).
With RPR you can take photos with either your iPhone or your Android Phone and wirelessly upload them to your computer with the touch of a button.
Date, time and roadworthy certificate number are automatically added to the photos.
What Do I Need To Run RPR?
To Run RPR you will need:
  1. Laptop or Desktop running Windows
  2. An iPhone or an Android Phone
  3. A Wirless Network connecting your phone and your computer.
What Android Should I Buy?
There are many Android phones available now with a wide range of specs.
To meet the requirements of Vic Roads, you will need to purchase one with at least a 5 mega pixel camera.
We recomend one with a camera that supports Auto Focus, as they can take clearer photos.

A flash is not necessary.
What iPhone Should I Buy?
The iPhone 4 or newer.
The iPhone 3GS works and produces good quality photos, but is technically only a 3 mega pixel camera.
Can I Use My iPod Touch?
No.
Unfortunatley the camera on an iPod touch including the gen 4 is of too lower quality.
Do I Need A Sim Card?
No.
RPR does not require a sim card to be installed.
All it requires is its camera and wifi card.
Running RPR

My Phone Says "Could Not Find Server"
There can be many causes for this. Use the following checklist to help:
  1. Check that your computer is on, and the RPR server is open.
  2. Check that your computer is connected to your wireless network
If you are usling a laptop check that your wifi card is turned on.
  3. Check that your phone is connected to your wirless network
  4. Check that your firewall is not blocking the RPR server
Android Update Crashes When Taking Photos"
Check the permissions for RPR in the Settings app for your Android.
Check that all three are turned on.
RPR Server Says "Application is already open"
When you close the RPR server by clicking the X at the top right, the server is not closed, but is hidden in your system tray. In this mode you can continue to upload photos without needing the RPR window open.

Your system tray is located at the bottom right next to your clock.
You should see a little white and blue RPR logo.
If not you should see a little arrow, click that and it should reveal the RPR icon.
To open RPR double click that icon.

To close the RPR server completely click the Exit button at the bottom left of the RPR Server window.
When I Open RPR Server Nothing Happens
The most common cause is that your firewall is blocking RPR Server from running.

Check your firewall settings, or contact your system administrator.

If RPR is still not running, make sure you have the latest version of Java installed.
Download RPR Server here and reinstall.
Everytime My iPhone Takes A Photo It Exits
Try turning your iPhone off completely, and then back on.

We have found that if your phone has been on for an extended period of time it can cause things to not run properly.
Simply rebooting fixes it.
My Android Says "Access Denied"
When you first run RPR on your Android you will need it to be connected to the internet to authenticate it.
Close RPR completely or turn your phone off and then on again.
Conntect it to the internet and launch RPR.
